Leora Blanche (Black) Hurst, daughter of Ora and Lola (Walton) Black, was born on September 5, 1922, on the family farm in Harper County, Oklahoma.  Leora was raised and spent her childhood helping her parents and siblings on the family farm.  The highlight of Leora high school days was the Rosston Class of 1939 senior trip, in which Leora explored 7 states, 2200 miles, seeing many landmarks, in eight days.  Leora married Cecil R. Hurst, August 2, 1945 in Ashland, Kansas.  They started their life on Cecil’s family farm southwest of Fort Supply.  They were blessed with five children, Wanda Lee, Darlene Kay, Richard Wayne, Gwenda Mae, and Robert Dean.  They moved from the farm in 1954 and made their home in Woodward, Oklahoma.  Leora worked in the laundry at Woodward Hospital and Henry Hunter’s before helping with the family business, Hurst Deep Rock Station.  Leora loved cooking, spending time with family, friends, and traveling when time allowed.  Leora was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Cecil; two daughters, Wanda White, and Darlene Tengsdahl; son-in-law Wesley White; granddaughter Deborah White; brothers Harold, Gerald, and Clifford; sisters Ailene, Evelyn, and Gwen. Leora left her earthly home on November 25, 2014 at Grace Living Center, Buffalo, Oklahoma.
