Dorothy Jean Tredway was born August 20, 1929 in Woodlawn, Tennessee, to Lewis and Etta Payne. The family relocated after the construction of Fort Campbell, to New Providence, Tennessee.  They lived in that area until 1944, when Lewis job took them to Moline, Kansas.  Dorothy attended one year of high school at Clarksville and graduated from Moline High School in 1947.  Dorothy worked at Dewter Drug and Southwestern Bell in Moline, Kansas.  On October 8, 1949 married Dorth (Bud) Tredway.  They moved to Burden, Kansas in 1952.  In 1964, Dorothy started work at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center as a psychiatric aide and remained an employee for 25 years before retiring in 1989. Dorothy was a member of the Burden First United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter.  Dorothy had a passion for making quilts, tending to her flowers and playing on the computer. In 2016 Dorothy moved to Winfield, Kansas, in 2018 Dorothy moved to Laverne, Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter Lori.  Dorothy lived at the Parkview Pointe Assisted Living Center in Laverne, Oklahoma and later to Grace Living Center in Buffalo, Oklahoma.  Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband Bud on February 7, 1985; son; Steven Tredway, sister; Juanita, brothers; Douglas Payne and Bob Payne, mother; Etta Kubits.  Dorothy went to her heavenly home on July 14, 2020. Dorothy survivors daughter; Lori Howell and husband Pat of Fort Supply, Oklahoma; son Doug Tredway and wife Pam of Mount Hope, Kansas, sister; Pat Merritt of Mission Viejo, California; sister-in-law Joann Payne of Fort Worth, Texas and Gail Tredway of Winfield, Kansas; grandchildren Michael Tredway & family of Derby, Kansas, Jeremy Tredway, of Wichita, Kansas, Brandon Tredway and family of Steinback, Canada, step grandchildren Chris Howell and family of Skiatook, Oklahoma Jennie Howell and family of Atlanta, Georgia, other family and friends.
