Donald Edmonds

d. November 7, 2019

Donald was born to Lewis Edmonds and Esta Bowker on the 23rd of July 1941 at the Ashland Hospital in Ashland Kansas.  Don graduated from the Buffalo High School with the class of 1959.  Donald married Elaine Torrance December 7, 1960.  They briefly lived in Garden City Kansas before moving to Enid Ok.  Don and Elaine had three children.  When they moved to Enid Don went to work for Thilstead Electric as an apprentice.  He earned his Journeyman’s license and worked all over the state on new construction.  In 1973 after the flood he went to work for St. Mary’s Hospital as the Chief Engineer where he was department head of maintenance, housekeeping, and security.  Don retired after 33 years of service.  Don then traveled the states delivering recreational vehicles from the manufacture. Donald enjoyed meeting people and had to know your name and where you’re from.  There were a few things that Don took pride in.  Raising three good kids with the help of a good woman.  He dearly loved his time spent working with kids coaching little league baseball and football.  From the time he took up playing the cornet in grade school till he graduated high school Donald played at all the grave side services for veterans buried with honors.  Don loved watching his grandchildren, taken trips to Colorado, catching trophy fish, and he loved his Lord. Donald went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday November 7, 2019 at Greenbrier Village of Enid OK. "Slick" was Don's nickname around the house, because of his no-hair-do. Donald is survived by his children, Gene Edmonds and wife Galin in Enid, Jimmy Edmonds in Enid, Debbie Fox and husband Don of Longview Texas.  Five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and his sister JoEllen Edmonds of Buffalo, Oklahoma, many nieces  nephews other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind the families of Peggy Ray and Linda Griffin that adopted him as their own.  The Family has suggested in Lieu of Flowers that you would donate and support your local youth sports league in your community.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday November 12, 2019 at the High Point Cemetery Buffalo, Oklahoma, under the direction of Wilkinson Funeral Service.
