Wilma Jean Ferbrache Chase was born on August 14, 1932, in Harper County, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully at her home in Buffalo, Oklahoma, on April 8, 2026, at the age of 93 years.
Wilma was raised in Buffalo by her father following the loss of her mother at a young age. Wilma attended school in Buffalo and remained deeply rooted in the community throughout her life. On September 10, 1949, she married Albert Chase, and together they built a loving family, raising seven children: Karen, Joyce, Terry, Paul, Mike, Marilyn, and Janice.
Wilma dedicated many years of service to her community through her work, first in Selman Community and later with the Buffalo Post Office, where she remained until her retirement of 30 years of service. Wilma was a founding member of the Merry Workers Home Demonstration Club and took great pride in her involvement in local activities, schools, and church.
A devoted member of the First Christian Church of Buffalo, Wilma served faithfully as President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Her strong Christian faith guided her life, and she was known for her servant’s heart. She generously gave her time volunteering at the nursing home and was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in need.
Wilma also founded the Red Hat Society chapter in Buffalo, where she cherished time spent with her many friends. She had a special place in her heart for young people and was a source of encouragement and kindness to all who knew her.
Wilma will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family and community, and the love and compassion she shared so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Karen Johnson (Jimmy) of Perryton, TX; daughter Joyce Silvey (Howard) of Kingman, KS; sons Paul Chase (Bobbie)
and Mike Chase, both of Buffalo, OK; her son-in-law Mike Comer; of Dorsey, MS, daughter Janice Summers (David) of Tupelo, MS; granddaughter Jolinda Silvey, granddaughter Tressa Anderson (Troy), granddaughter Janene McCormick, grandson Shannon Silvey(Susan), granddaughter Michele Cornelius (Brad), granddaughter Stephanie Buss (Andrew), granddaughter Anna Marshall (Sam), grandson Clinton Chase (Sonya), granddaughter Heather Holder Hodges Rian), grandson Brett Chase (Brandy), granddaughter Carrie Hitt (Mark), grandson Troy Comer (Robbie), grandson Terry Comer (Emily), grandson Ryan Summers (Anne), and grandson Mark Summers (Amanda) , and many beloved great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a great-great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Ferbrache; her husband, Albert Chase; her son, Terry Chase; her daughter, Marilyn Comer; and her sons-in-law, Jimmy Johnson, Howard Silvey, and David Summers, and great-granddaughter Ashlie Hawley.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her church, dear friends, and the entire community for the many acts of kindness, compassion, and support shown to her in her later years. Your love and generosity brought comfort and meant more than words can truly express.
Come and go visitation with family and friends will be Friday April 17 from 11:00AM - 7:00PM Wilkinson Funeral Service.
Funeral service will be 11:00AM SATURDAY APRIL 18, 2026 at Buffalo First Christian Church, burial will follow in the Willow Creek Cemetery.
