William Clarence Furgason was born to John Clarence and Hattie Mae Brown Furgason on September 12, 1932, in Buffalo, Oklahoma. William attended school and like sneaking out of the classroom window to go play on the swings. William worked to help provide for his family while attending school, but he graduated from high school. William enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 8, 1953, serving on the USS Shanghai la and USS Kearsarge. William and Charlotte Coeta Tomlinson were married on June 4, 1955, in Englewood, California, to this union three children were born, Deby, John, and Sandy. After serving in the Navy for several years, William went to work for American Meter Company. William enjoyed playing cards with friends, taking Charlotte to dances, surprising his children with gifts like playhouses and bikes. William was a baseball coach and Boy Scout leader. The breakfast table was always surrounded by the neighborhood kids eating the best meal of the day. William and his family returned to Oklahoma to work on a dairy in Waynoka. William and his family moved to Laverne, Oklahoma to work on a dairy. William went to work for General in 1979 and moved to town, made their home in Laverne. William worked long hours at night setting on wells and days working for General. William was on two Bowling leagues singles and doubles. William enjoying camping, fishing any change he could get, taking road trips with his kids and grandkids. William was always leaving dimes in his sisters-in-law bathroom. William loved mowing, taking care of yards with his dog, teaching his grandkids to play ball, bowling, riding bikes, and driving. William would take the grandkids to Texas and Kansas to buy scratch off tickets. William would go to Sooners while grandma did books and scratch offs tickets, eat candy bars or ice cream. William would go to the casino, every chance he could get. William was preceded in death by his parents; John and Hattie Furgason, in-laws; Llyod & Gladys Tomlinson, sisters; Virginia Daugherty, Mary Mae Owens, Hazel Hayes. William left his earthly home on October 12, 2022, at his home with his family at his bedside. William is survived by his wife of 67 years Charlotte Furgason of Laverne, Oklahoma, children; Debra Dodd of Laverne, Oklahoma, John (Kelly) Furgason of Odessa, Texas, Sandra (Tony) Clark of Laverne, Oklahoma, sisters; Georgia Furgason, Tina (Bill) McMillian, Joyce (Dean) Carnagey, brother; Charles Furgason, 4 Biological Grandkids, multiple extended Grandkids, 7 Great Grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. William loved life and his family; he will be greatly missed. Family has suggest donation to the Laverne Ministerial Alliance.
