STEVEN G ELROD

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven G Elrod of Ponca City, Oklahoma on September 19th, 2026 at the age of 74.

Steven was born on November 10th,1951 in Eureka, Kansas to Junior and Avis K. Jones Elrod. He graduated from Guymon High School with the class of 1971, Steven served as a member of the United States Air Force, where he traveled many places including serving in the Persian Gulf War.

After retiring from the military, Steven returned to Ponca City, began working for Air System Components . He was an avid reader of anything relating to history, loved watching football and western movies, and tracking the stock market. Steven enjoyed weekly phone calls with his kids and grandkids, hearing about their weekly adventures.

Steven G Elrod is survived by Sister Kristi and husband John Lee of Ashland KS, Son Jeremy and wife Amiee Elrod of Brookland AR, Daughter Kimberly and husband Judd Smith of Lumberton Tx. Grandchildren Dylan and Tabitha Smith of California, Gabby and Hunter Bland of Orange Tx, Kaitlyn Smith of Lumberton Tx. Addisen Elrod of Brookland AR and Callen Smith of Lumberton Tx. As well as numerous nieces and nephews, 2 great grandchildren , and many friends that became family during his life in Ponca City, Oklahoma who will continue to carry his memory and love with them. He was preceded in death by his parents Junior Grant, Avis K. Jones Elrod and Sister Kathy Stone, great nephew Jack Lee.

Although our hearts are broken, we are thankful for every moment we were blessed to share with Steven. The memories he left behind will continue to live on through everyone who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank INTEGRIS Hospice House for the loving care provided during this time.

Graveside service will be held on October 24, 2026 starting at 2:00pm at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Park Ponca City, Oklahoma.
