Saul Velez, 56, a resident of Buffalo, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday August 9, 2025. He was born on January 10,1969, in Manuel Avila Camacho, Zacatecas, Mexico, Saul came to the United States in 1993, building a life defined by devotion to family, hard work, and genuine friendship.
For 25 years, Saul dedicated himself to Buffalo Feeders, where he formed deep bonds with his coworkers who became like a second family. His natural connection with cattle and the land was matched only by his warm camaraderie in the workplace. Colleagues will remember his ready smile, steadfast reliability and the quiet pride he took in a job well done.
Away from work, Saul cherished moments outdoors, tending to livestock, grilling for family gatherings, or sitting on the porch with his cherished granddaughter Viviana Velez. HIs love foropen skies and quiet evenings spoke of a man who found peace in God’s creation. A man of quiet strength and deep loyalty, Saul’s legacy lives on in the pastures he tended, the coworkers he uplifted, the family he adored, and the eternal hope of his Aguilas soaring to victory.
Saul was preceded in death by his father, Carmelo Velez; sister Maria Ernestina Velez; brother, Clemente Ayala Velez; and beloved daughter Maria Berenitce Velez.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Maria de Los Angeles Vital Torres; his 2 sons, Joaquin Velez, Eidan Valentine Velez; one daughter, Jazmin Velez; and granddaughter Viviana Velez, all from Buffalo, OK. Mother, Magdalena Ayala of Perryton, Texas; brothers Roman Velez, Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico; Rito Velez of Perryton, Texas; Jesus Velez of Perryton, Texas; Sisters Paty Velez of Perryton, TX; and Eva Boose of Flora, Illinois, alone with many nieces and nephews and friends. "The Cowboy rests, but his love for the land, work and family flourishes eternally."
Rosary will be held Thursday August 14 at 7:00PM St Joseph Catholic Church Buffalo, Oklahoma.
Funeral Mass Friday August 15th at 11:00AM St. Joseph Catholic Church Buffalo, Oklahoma, burial will follow at the High Point Cemetery Buffalo, Oklahoma.
