Patsy Kay Scovel, age 83 of Buffalo,OK, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday April 18, 2026.

Patsy was born in Woodward, OK to Gene Vanderslice and Sylvia Hall Vanderslice. She was one of five children, her siblings being Ronnie, Roger, Larry, and Gary. She graduated from high school in Woodward, OK and moved to Buffalo after marrying her husband, Gene. After the birth of their children, Patsy worked to help support her family, eventually obtaining a position with the Highway Department doing accounting and bookkeeping.

Patsy was an exceedingly kind, thoughtful, and spiritual person. She committed herself to her family and to the church. Over the years, she enjoyed playing the piano, accordion, and organ at church. Patsy had a deep passion for genealogy and she also enjoyed baking and crocheting. She enjoyed baking for the kids at church well into her later years. She had a strong sense of family and never missed her children’s school activities.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 63 years Gene Scovel of Buffalo, OK; her son Jeff Scovel of Seattle, WA; and her brothers Ronnie Vanderslice of Woodward, OK and Roger Vanderslice of Pueblo West, CO. Patsy is preceded in death by her son Gerald Scovel, parents Gene and Sylvia Vanderslice, and brothers Larry Vanderslice and Gary Vanderslice.

Patsy will be laid to rest next to her son Gerald at the Mooreland Cemetery on Saturday April 25, 2026 at 3:30pm

Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Schools or to the Western Skilled Nursing home of Buffalo.
