Nita Lou (Kinser) Smith

Nita was born on January 9, 1972 in Seguin, TX, to Wally and Juanita Kinser.  Nita graduated from Buffalo High School in 1990, where she was an avid and accomplished athlete and excelled to become an Oklahoma State Champion hurdler. She also played basketball, softball, ran track and was a member of the show choir. Upon graduation she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. On November 26, 1993 she married, Jerry Lynn Smith in Woodward, OK together they had a son, Brodi Dean Smith. Jerry and Nita moved to Little Elm, Texas where Nita continued her work with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company until her health would no longer allow.  Jerry became a professional airline pilot and currently flies for a fractional ownership company flying corporate jets.   Brodi attends the Frisco school district and plays baseball with the Wakeland Wolverines.  Those who knew Nita loved her free spirit, sense of humor, and upbeat personality. Despite her 9 year battle with cancer, she never complained, always had a positive attitude and was a cancer warrior. Her son, Brodi, was the light of her life. She delighted in watching him play baseball. His teammates knew they always had a cheering section when Nita was on the sidelines. She loved dabbling in arts and crafts, decorating cakes, bicycling, running and the great outdoors. She also had an obsession with shoes! She was preceded in death by her father, Wally Kinser, Grandmother Eva LaMunyon, Grandparents, Lloyd & Violet Kinser. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the age of 41 at the Tulsa Cancer Treatment Center after a lengthy battle with cancer.
