Martha Crane

Martha Marie (Jacobs) Crane was born April 10, 1940 to parents Leo Jacobs and Beatrice (Degnan) Jacobs in Ashland. She passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Fort Dodge Soldiers Home at the age of 79. Martha attended St. Joseph’s School, Ashland High School, Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colorado, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and Dodge City Community College where she received an Associate Degree in Nursing.  Martha grew up on a farm west of Ashland and was involved in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Acres 4-H Club and rodeo.  Martha worked as a Registered Nurse in Ashland and surrounding towns.

Martha married Donald (Duke) Crane on November 2, 1961 at Ashland.  Martha is survived by daughters:  Sarah Patton of Sharon Springs, KS, Shalah White and husband Gary, of Ashland, and Amy Crane of Cimarron, KS; five grandsons:  Zackary Patton, Trevor Gruver and Henry, Elliot, and Robert White.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother, Pat Jacobs.

Graveside services will take place on Friday, November 15 at 11:00 AM at Highland Cemetery.  Martha will be missed by all who knew her.
