Marie Belle Love Allen, the daughter of Ora P and Naomi B (Hunt) Marker, was born on May 5, 1932. Marie grew up on the family farm in Beaver County and learned at an early age to cook, clean, and care for her siblings as she was the oldest child of the seven children born to Ora and Naomi. Marie attended Laverne Schools and graduated with the class of 1949. She married Charles Robert Love, November 24th, 1949 and moved to make their home in Laverne. This union was blessed with four children, sons; Robert Lee, Wilbur Ray, and Rodney Dell and daughter, Peggy Marie . Even though Marie lost her best friend and sister, Joann (Marker) Love, to an automobile accident, she helped to nurture and care for her sisters’ children, Elizabeth Jo, David Kenny, Matthew Ray, and Mark Allan, as her own. Marie’s heart was very giving and loving, as she cared for and opened her house to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and anyone else that needed a home. No matter how busy she was, if one of the kids needed attention, she would take the time to make that child feel important. One of Marie’s many talents was her amazing cooking. She prepared large meals for all family gatherings, harvest crews, and anyone who happened to stop by the house at meal time. Marie was also an excellent seamstress and sewed most all the clothes for herself and family. She sewed a wedding dress and a leisure suit, along with several Miss Laverne outfits. Marie was also a perfectionist and her motto was “If you are going to do something, you are going to do it right.” Marie was a charter member of the Helpful Neighbors Club and hosted many Christmas parties and meetings. Marie enjoyed watching her family in school activities and participating in church events. After 49 years of marriage, in February of 1999, Charles Robert passed away, leaving a void in Marie’s life. She was fortunate to meet Carlos Allen and united in marriage in November 1999. Marie enjoyed taking care of Carlos and listening to him play the guitar for 14 years, before he passed away in 2013. Marie loved her Savior and her church. Marie accepted Jesus as her Savior at the young age of 6 years old and would talk to anyone about the Lord. Marie taught children’s Sunday School and VBS for many years before teaching a Woman’s Sunday School class. One member told her that she laughed more on Sunday morning than all week. Marie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ora and Naomi Marker, husband Charles Robert Love, husband Carlos Allen, sons: Robert Lee Love and Rodney Dell Love, brothers: Fred Marker, John Marker, James Marker, and sister: Joann Love. Marie left her earthly home and entered into the kingdom of Heaven on Friday, March 12, 2021 when she was called home at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 7 days. Marie leaves as her survivors, daughter: Peggy Marie Love of Laverne, Oklahoma; son: Wilbur Ray Love of Laverne, Oklahoma; Grandchildren: Charles Robert II and wife Brittany Love of Benbrook, Texas,: Emily Rose and husband Joe Cunningham of Dallas, Texas,; great grandchildren: Chloe Love Cunningham, Olivia Rose Love, Charles Robert Love III (May 2021), and Summer Rae Cunningham (June 2021); siblings; Bill and wife Tyrea Marker of Nixa, Missouri; Daisy and husband Terry Maphet of Gate, Oklahoma.
