KAY CAMPBELL

Christina "Kay" Campbell, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Born along with her twin sister on December 25, 1940 to parents Ivan and Agnes Myers, Kay was a kind-hearted woman known for her selfless nature and as a faithful member of the Methodist Church. Born and raised in Buffalo, Oklahoma, Kay graduated from Buffalo High School and furthered her education by attending college in Alva, Oklahoma. She was a strong believer in the power of education and was a lifelong learner. Kay was extremely proud that both her daughters were first generation college graduates.

Kay married the love of her life, Elbert Campbell, with whom she shared a loving family, including their two daughters: Fonda (David) Narke and Julie Campbell and four grandchildren: Nolan, Luke, James, and Haley. Her family was her pride and joy, and she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Elbert joined the Air Force and Kay became a devoted Air Force wife. Kay and Elbert enjoyed traveling and living in multiple communities as the military moved the family throughout the Midwest. Elbert, Kay and their daughters spent 2 years in the Philippines at Clark Air Force Base. Elbert and Kay took the opportunity to take short trips to other Asian locations including Hong Kong. Kay and Elbert made lifetime friends in every community they were part of. Kay worked in the banking industry throughout her life as a military wife. Following her husband's retirement in 1981, they returned to Buffalo, Oklahoma, where she began working at the Corp of Engineers, eventually retiring from there. Upon her retirement, Kay and Elbert returned to Papillion Nebraska to be near their daughters and grandchildren. A woman of many interests, Kay was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano and organ for her church. She also participated in choir, bringing joy to many with her musical talents. Her community involvement included working at the used bookstore at the Papillion Library and participating in a community choir that performed in various forums, including local nursing homes. Kay's legacy is one of a beautiful and kind spirit, always ready to help anyone in need. Her hard-working nature and devotion to her family and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Kay is proceeded in death by her husband, Elbert Campbell. A graveside service to honor Kay's life will be held at High Point Cemetery in Buffalo, Oklahoma, Friday January 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
