Karey Don Hale

Karey Don Hale was born on July 6, 1939, in Buffalo, Oklahoma to Lowell “Bus” and Leora (Carpenter) Hale. Karey Don grew up in the Buffalo area and graduated from Buffalo High School with the class of 1957. He went to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma where he graduated with a degree in accounting. Karey Don and Betty Lou Koeppen were united in marriage on June 1, 1958 and to this union they were blessed with two daughters, Shoyleen and Kelley. Karey Don worked at the Texas Highway Department, and then worked at Phillips Refinery for 14 years, until his dad’s death. He then moved back home to work on the family farm. Karey Don deeply loved his family and friends. He was especially happy in the outdoors, fishing at Brown Ceder Cut in Sargent, Texas, or hunting at Pagosa Springs, Colorado during elk season. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Duane Hale. Karey Don went to his heavenly home early Sunday morning at home with his family by his bedside. He is survived by his wife Betty, his sister Beverly Short and husband Jack of Woodward, Oklahoma; two daughters Shoyleen Hamilton and husband Andy of Katy, Texas and Kelley Gall of Sharon, Oklahoma. His grandchildren are Sheri and Todd Moebes, Andrea and Ryan Kline, Amanda and Jason Ecrette, Clinton Hamilton and finance Emily Sartor, Taylor Stoll, and four great-grandchildren, Presli, Kadon, Keeli and Rori.
