Jimmie (Jim) Roy Kirkhart, 70 of Gate,Ok
quietly passed to his heavenly home on August 24 while at home surrounded by loved ones. Jim was born on the family farm near Gate, Ok on August 20, 1951 to Gilbert Clare Kirkhart and Arvella May (McNabb) Kirkhart.
Jim attended Gate Schools. The family attended Gate Methodist where Jim and his brother Tom as children played the guitar and sang. (at his mom’s strong encouragement) as he had a beautiful voice.
Jim attended a semester of college at Northwestern of Alva, Ok before enlisting in the Army from 1970 until 1978, being stationed at bases all across the states and overseas at Fligerhorst Kaserne Base, Germany. Re-enlisting in the Army Reserves from 1982 to 1985.
After an honorable discharge Jim went into law-in-enforcement working as a OHP officer in Texas, County, Ok then a deputy in Harper County and Chief of Police in Buffalo, Ok. during a 20 year span.
Jim also helped his father with the family farming and ranching operation. In 2006 Jim moved to the family farm and went to work for Beaver County as an heavy equipment operator. He had to take retirement in July 2019 due to illness .
Jim is survived by his wife Janis Diann (Ellis) Kirkhart of the home. Daughters Beckie Jo Powell (David) of Laverne, Ok, Jimmie Sue Seacat (Justin) of Winfield, Ks, Son, Shane Roy Kirkhart (Jennifer)of Forgan, Ok.
Bonus children - Scott Miller(Pamela) of Booker, Tx, Brady Miller (Roni) of Groom, Tx, and Jody Pool (Cory) of Rye, Co.
24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren a brother Tom Kirkhart of Great Bend, Ks and his mother Arvella Kirkhart of Beaver, Ok along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Jim is pre-deceased by his father Gilbert Kirkhart and sister in law Debye Kirkhart.
A graveside memorial will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, August 28 at the Gate, Ok cemetery.
